Rebecca Highfield is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has been with Independence Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since January 2009. Before moving to Ashland Rebecca served churches in Oklahoma where she also attended Phillips Theological Seminary. Growing up in Texas Rebecca was active in her home churches and learned the value of a church family. Now she feels blessed to lead a congregation on a journey with Christ.

Rebecca is married to Mark Highfield, a budget analyst, and has a young daughter, Elena. Once Elena falls asleep and the dishes are done, Rebecca likes to sew, crochet and in general work with crafts. She also enjoys reading biographies and may have a small addiction to the History Channel. Rebecca believes that ministry is best done in relationships, with God and with one another. Therefore, she loves to welcome all people into the growing life of Independence Christian Church.
